Grade One Pajama Day


Pajama Day
Students in grade one celebrated their reading accomplishments on a recent Friday with a pajama day. Students participated in several language based activities throughout the day. They were honored to have two special guest readers, Mrs. Naso and Mrs. Buker. A fun day was had by all.

SJS Welcomes Exchange Students

St. Joseph’s welcomes exchange students from Korea


Exchange Students

 

St. Joseph School has taken a bold step forward with its cultural awareness program by beginning an exchange program involving eight students from South Korea to their school. Min Gyu Jeong, Yeon Hu Kim, Woong Gi Jung, Tae Woong Kim, Jin Young Kim, Jong Wong Chung , Ae Ri Kim and Do Hyung Kim arrived at Logan Airport late Friday evening, January 7.

True Meaning of Christmas

Christmas takes on true meaning at SJS


Christmas

As a private Catholic school, Saint Joseph’s celebrated the season of Christmas in its truest meaning. All of the schools five hundred plus students participated in numerous observations and festivities.

Getting a jump on the celebrating, all students visited the annual Christmas Holly Fair sponsored by the Parents Club under the direction of officers Pamela Naso and Patti Summers. The fair has special student shopping, innumerable treats, games and prizes. Students enjoy an early viewing of the goods and a special time to purchase the same.

Grade 6

6th Graders at work


Engineering and Fractions

Grade 6 students working on an Engineering project as well as students
placing fractions on a 3-D number line


This year at St. Joseph School, the sixth grade is participating in a program with Tufts University that will integrate engineering into the science curriculum. As part of the Student Teacher Outreach Mentorship Program (STOMP), undergraduate engineering fellows from Tufts visit St. Joseph’s once a week to engage students in engineering presentations and hands-on activities. In the fall, the sixth graders undertook a Service Learning Project.

Walk Raises Over $35,000


Walk for Education

Rain didn’t get in the way of Saint Joseph School students participating in the Saint Joseph School Walk for Education. The walk was coordinated by the school’s Advancement office under the direction of coordinators Janet Donnelly, Leah O’Keefe, and Angela Passacantilli.
