St. Joseph School takes on another academic endeavor

Quiz Show	On January 28, St. Joseph School seventh and eighth graders joined thirteen other middle schools in the region as first time participants in Quiz Bowl , a middle school academic jeopardy competition.   Students were asked to prepare for questions in five academic categories and five special categories. The academic categories were Cell Biology, Poetry, Math Vocabulary , History of Islam, Greek Mythology , the 2012 Primaries, Caucuses and Conventions. view full size slideshow

The special topics were 100th year celebrations of Fenway Park, The Sinking of the Titanic, birth of abstract artist Jackson Pollack, the Girl Scouts and the Republic of China.

Representing St. Joseph School were eighth graders Cameron Doyle, Michael Welton, Ryan Arbuckle, Shannon McGurty , Jennifer Ong and Edward Tan. Seventh grade students were Evan Marks, Olivia Marks, Jack Albanese. Sharice Nazaire , Liam Shaughnessy, Albert Cangiano, Andrew Murphy , John Corbett , Patrick Kelly , and George Bailey. St, Joseph School faculty member Mr. Ryan Liacos was the team advisor
