BOYS JUNIOR TEAM (5th/6th grade)
St. Joe’s returned to their winning ways with a solid victory over the Chevrus School to improve their record to 7-2 and remain amongst the leaders in the Middlesex Catholic Elementary School League.
St. Joseph 31, Chevrus School 19
The game featured a tenacious St. Joe’s man-to-man defensive lockdown. Jeffrey Wang, Patrick Hurley, Evan Marks, Michael Doyle, Andrew Murphy and Michael Frongillo kept the pressure on with tremendous grit and hustle while the usual cast of characters provided the offensive punch. As they have done all year, standout guard Sebastian Allien (8 points, 4 assists, 5 steals), sharpshooter Shawn Maloney (8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals), sparkplug Patrick Kelly (4 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds), whirling dervish Cameron Doyle (5 points, 2 blocks) and chairman-of-the-boards Jack Albanese (4 points, 4 rebounds) consistently came up with the big baskets when their team needed it most.
